Parker’s is an owner run business of Estate Agents and Letting Agents based in the North Somerset village of Backwell. Established in 1989 and with a long and excellent reputation of professional, personal service and recommendation, we offer extensive expertise in all aspects of the residential property market. Director, Andrew Simmonds has a wealth of professional experience, a detailed knowledge of Estate Agency and the Local housing market.

Amenities and facilities

Within easy commuter distance of Bristol City Centre, the village of Backwell lies on the A370 approximately 7 miles south west from Bristol city centre, 3.5 miles from Bristol International Airport, and 1.5 miles from Nailsea Town centre and with a mainline intercity train station Nailsea/Backwell. It includes the hamlets of Backwell Common, Backwell Green, Farleigh, Church Town and West Town. The village has a long history, appearing in the Domesday Book in 1086 with the name ‘Bacoile’ meaning ‘The well back on the hill’.

With a population of around 5,900 Backwell offers its residents a wide range of amenities such as doctors, dentists, pharmacy, convenience stores, post office, vets, newsagents, food restaurants, take away food, Off Licence, public houses and lots more. There is a leisure complex providing swimming pool and squash courts. Recreational facilities include Tennis and Bowling Clubs, Scouting Association, Football for all age groups, outside multi gym and play parks. Other local organisations include the WI, Parish Council, Red Cross and The Backwell Playhouse theatre, which provide entertainment. The close proximity of the village to the countryside offers a variety of country pursuits such as walking, cycling and horse riding. Backwell has a cycleway which runs from Backwell Common in to Bristol city centre. The nearest golf course is to be found at Tickenham and the M5 motorway can be accessed at Clevedon or Gordano. The local rail station provides mainline trains along the intercity network with direct trains to Bristol, Bath, Reading and London and links to the West Country and North.

Backwell Secondary School has an excellent reputation and one of the finest state schools in North Somerset Area. Both Westleigh Infants and Backwell Junior School and Fairfield Independent primary have excellent Outstanding Ofsted results as do all the pre-school educational facilities available.
